Pricing and compliance
Showing price reductions correctly under the EU Omnibus rules
What the rules ask of a price reduction and how electronic shelf labels help you show it consistently.

What the rules ask for
When you announce a price reduction in the EU, the Omnibus Directive asks you to show the prior price: the lowest price you charged in a set period before the reduction, usually 30 days. Check the exact rules in your country with your adviser.
Why it is hard on paper
Tracking the lowest recent price by hand for every promoted product is slow and easy to get wrong, especially across several stores.
How electronic labels help
If your product data includes the prior price, the label can show it next to the promotional price, and every label in every store shows the same thing at the same time.
